While we love trying new things, when it comes to travel, we tend to return to the same spots that we’ve fallen in love with over the years. One year ago when we first visited Moosehead Lake in Maine, this B & B became close to our hearts. We first visited The Blair Hill Inn on a whim and it’s where I shot my very first blog photos. So, our return trip this year was a “Happy 1st Birthday” celebration for my blog and also a chance to soak in the beauty you’ll see below in my photos. As creatures of habit, we again hiked a mountain and did another moose safari. Click here to view my blog post from our first visit one year ago. Next I’ll be posting another outfit from our stop in Maine followed by a post on the final stop on our roadtrip – Vermont. Thank you for reading!

Sunsets require no explanation!
Our hike up Big Moose Mountain (2,000 ft elevation gain with views of Moosehead Lake at the top). Old house about 1/4 of the way up the mountain.
I always do some sort of inversion at the top. The ledge was a little too narrow for a handstand!
The moose safari was great! This year we saw 3 females (cows) and one male (bull). They have amazing smell and hearing but terrible eyesight which allows you to get quite close to the females (25-50 yards away). The males, however, were gone before we got any closer than 300 yards both last year and this year. Hence the terrible photo of the male….this was with a great lens too. The first cow we saw was quite young (2 years) and not afraid to relieve herself in front of the camera.
They love the inland lakes because the greenery at the bottom is super salty and has tons of calcium.
The male from very far away…
We also saw some Canadian loons – mom, dad and two babies. Their call was beautiful! Look it up if you’ve never heard it before. Apparently it’s a sound people travel thousands of miles to hear. Fun fact: loons live their whole life with the same partner.
The best for last: what I wore! Madewell vest (on sale! and also styled here); James Perse t-shirt (mine is from Intermix and is a super light grey color – wasn’t on their website); Jerome Dreyfuss bag (old but LOVE this one); Current/Elliott jeans; Schutz shoes
Greetings from the northeast! Our trip this year is split up between 3 locations so I’m sharing them separately. Our first stop was in Kennebunkport, Maine to soak up some lobster along the coast. We absolutely loved the resort we stayed at and wished we had stayed for more than one night. We’ll definitely be back there to visit. It feels like a five-star resort with the privacy of your own “home” and the peace of the wilderness. Here I’m sharing some photos from the day along with the outfit I wore to dinner at the resort’s farm-to-table restaurant Earth (unbelievable food). Not only was the restaurant amazing, but they have gardens all over the grounds where you can literally go pick whatever vegetables you want and eat them. Love the local, sustainable and organic efforts!
After Kennebunkport we drove to Moosehead Lake in Maine. My next post will be about our time there and some great outfit shots I was able to take from the stunning views at the Blair Hill Inn. Thank you for reading!

By recommendation our first lobster roll was from this place in downtown Kennebunkport. It was excellent!
I loved the antique look of so many of the homes, specifically all the cedar shake exteriors. Loved this garage door and the antique gas pump next to it.
Later in the day we stopped at this cute shack for a whole lobster instead of a roll.
Bob O’Reilly knew A LOT about lobsters!
The Hidden Pond Resort. They have one-bedroom bungalows or two-bedroom cottages all separate from each other. Each includes a lovely screened-in porch perfect for a nap and the interior decorating was lovely! So comfortable and homey that you just want to stay and relax! It would be great for families too – there are bikes, two pools (one adult and one family), hiking, and Kennebunkport is a short drive away.
Perhaps the best part about Hidden Pond: outside your door at 8am each morning is a thermos of hot coffee, a box of pastries and a newspaper.
We just returned from our annual trip to the One & Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas and had a great time. It is a work trip for my boyfriend’s company so the week is full of social events, mixed in with some spa, pool and beach time. This year the weather was the hottest it’s ever been so it made looking fashionable a real challenge! You basically spend a lot of time on hair and makeup and it’s ruined within 30 minutes of stepping outside. If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you most likely saw all of my daily posts but here I’m sharing an outfit I dressed down and up while at the resort. One of our social events was at Flora’s Farm just two days before Adam Levine had his wedding there. Supposedly Usher, John Travolta and Robert Downey Jr. were at our hotel but I missed them. I highly recommend a trip to this resort, just perhaps in February!
I’m happy to be back to reality and look forward to getting back to regular blog posts this week. Hope you had a great weekend and thank you for reading!

Dressed down: Stone Cold Fox skirt (super old but similar here and LOVE this one here); J. Crew shirt; Antik Batik bag (just a suggestion – order 3 or 4 of them because they’ll all be quite different colors and patterns, then you can pick which one suits your taste best and send back the others. After I got it I was wishing it had a strap so I went to Urban Outfitters, found a $10 cheap bag on the sale rack that had a strap I liked, bought it and removed the strap and added it to this bag); Birkenstock sandals; Stella McCartney sunnies
Dressed up: Stone Cold Fox skirt (links above); Bois shirt (old – similar here); Stuart Weitzman heels; Antik Batik bag (link above); Old necklace (similar here); Rings left to right Spinelli Kilcollin ring (one ring across 3 fingers); Sara Weinstock midi ring; Sethi Couture eternity band; One Jewelry midi ring; “A” initial Catbird ring; Anita Ko spike ring; Star Catbird ring; Anita Ko rhodium plated spike ring
Back in March, Stuart Weitzman launched an option to design your own Nudist heel. Being the earth-tone-loving person that I am, I died when I saw the option to do a camo linen pair. They finally came in May, and they’ve since added them to their regular collection that you can order online without the wait time. I threw them on last week with these super comfortable James Perse linen pants and it was a match made in olive-green heaven. They’ll also be great with any pair of jeans and I have a dressy outfit with a skirt planned for this week that I’ll be wearing them with. We made it to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico yesterday so make sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for daily updates and outfits! Thank you for reading.

Top necklace custom made (I lost one of my diamond earrings a few years ago – wah! – so I had this necklace made with the remaining earring and wear it every day); Gara Danielle necklace
Hope you are all having a great week. This light and airy dress has been perfect for the hot and steamy Michigan weather. Although it’s about to get hotter as I’m currently packing for our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I loved accessorizing this dress with a few of my rose gold pieces. I tend to lean more toward classic gold accessories but love to mix it up with more muted rose gold items.
Hope you are having a great week and thank you for reading!
