Well Dressed: Camouflaging Day and Night
It’s been so warm in Michigan this fall that we’re still wearing sandals and tank tops (a rarity for early October) which gave me the opportunity to wear this amazing Phillip Lim tank with a pair of my new favorite jeans. I love that they’re camo but have a modern/futuristic twist to them. For fall, I love things I can layer, and this tank top is perfect because it’s great on it’s own, while adding instant glamour to a less dressy item, like a sweatshirt, when layered underneath. Plus, because it’s quite sparkly, it eliminates the need to go crazy with jewelry. Regardless of day or night, I don’t tend to pile on jewelry because too much of it bugs me. I’ve always lived by that wonderful Coco Chanel quote about accessorizing, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” In the rush of getting ready and not always being positive about our look, it’s easy to put on too much makeup or too many accessories thinking more is more. Keep it simple and try Coco’s advice next time you’re stepping out!
I’m off to Nashville tomorrow and can’t wait to snap some photos in Music City. My authentic Lucchese cowboy boots will definitely be making the cut so stay tuned! Thank you for reading!
