Well Dressed: Summertime Blues in Miu Miu Shoes
I love all things denim. Denim shirts (I think I own 5), denim dresses, jean shorts, jeans — you name it. With summer about to fade in the rearview mirror, I wanted to get one more wear of this denim dress during our trip last week to New York City, and when paired with a cute neutral (read: leg-lengthening) tennis shoe, it was perfect for shopping around Soho. I always want to wear heels because I feel more fashionable but with all those cobblestone streets, it’s just not possible! The windows in the rooms at our favorite Crosby Street Hotel in Soho provide a panoramic view of lower Manhattan, and we were lucky enough to have clear view southbound of the amazing Freedom Tower.
Almost every time we’re in NYC, we visit a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner at 1st & 74th called Campagnola, and the dressed up look was great on a hot night (although an unforgiving tight dress is not so great after a pasta dinner!) I just found this dress a couple weeks ago and although it seems quite summery and hard to transition from summer to fall, the turtleneck, the color of the dress (navy is huge for fall) and the ability to do a jacket/blazer over top and pumps on bottom make it very wearable when temperatures drop. I also wanted to do one more summery color on my nails and I love the combo of navy and fuchsia.
I’m heading back to NYC tomorrow morning and hope to glean some trend inspiration around town as the fashion shows get under way. Maybe someday that inspiration can come from being at one of the shows — a girl can dream, right?
Thank you for reading!
Be well xo
